How Dual Enrollment Works
This section is for parents/guardians too — quick overview + the most-used links.
What Dual Enrollment Is
High school students take a community college course and earn college credit (and often high school credit too).
- Courses appear on a college transcript
- Deadlines are set by the college (not the high school)
- Drops/withdrawals can affect your record

FAQ
Short answers to the questions families ask the most.
Will dual enrollment affect my college applications?
It can be a positive (rigor + college credit). But withdrawals (W) and failing grades live on the college transcript, so follow the deadlines.
What’s the difference between “Drop without a W” and “Drop with a W”?
Before the first drop deadline, the class disappears. After that, you may receive a “W” (withdrawal) on your college transcript.
How many classes can I take?
Depends on your schedule, workload, and eligibility. Start with one course if you’re new to it, then build from there.
